“Into the Wonderland”
This project was developed as part of an architectural competition in France, where the task was to design a small wooden cabin for a forest site, focusing on cost efficiency, simple construction and minimal materials. I worked on this project together with three fellow architecture students, with my role covering both the conceptual design and the technical development of the structure.
Our idea, “Into the Wonderland”, was inspired by Alice in Wonderland and aimed to create not just a cabin, but a spatial journey. The structure is placed at the edge of a large open meadow and invites visitors into a mysterious, playful interior that gradually guides them into the depths of the forest. Through changes in scale and orientation, the cabin creates a sense of transformation, evoking the feeling of shrinking and stepping into a magical world.
At the end of the experience, visitors exit directly into the forest, which now feels like an enchanted, otherworldly place. The cabin becomes a transition between reality and fantasy, built with simple means, but designed to leave a lasting spatial impression.
